A BRIEF HISTORY OF LIVINGSTON & HAYNES, P.C.

Since the early part of the 20th century, Livingston & Haynes has enjoyed a long, steady tradition as a trusted CPA firm.

In 1927, when Mark Livingston decided to expand his CPA firm, he hired a young assistant, James Haynes. It didn’t take long for Livingston to realize how much of an asset Haynes was, so he rewarded him by making him a full partner. But within months, Livingston died suddenly and Haynes found himself running the company, retaining Livingston’s name out of respect for his mentor.

James ran the company successfully until 1966, when his two sons, Bill and Fred took over. With Bill’s death in 1997, Livingston and Haynes was left in the capable hands of Fred Haynes.

Fred, who runs the company to this day, began acquiring smaller CPA businesses, thus expanding the firm. Clients have remained with L&H from generation to generation. Fred takes pride in the company’s family history and now Fred’s son, Steve, a competent businessman in his own right, has joined the firm.
